Because relationships matter.

October teaching series: The ULTIMATE Ghost Story

Everyone has heard a gripping ghost story — a tall tale of a mysterious presence roaming around because of some horrible experience in a person’s past.  We are taught as children to think that any sort of spirit is scary and to be avoided at all costs.

When it comes to the ultimate Ghost story — one that has been told and experienced firsthand by the people of God for countless centuries — we find out that the God of the universe is a spirit (a Holy Spirit) who may be mysterious or unknown to some, but not scary at all.

Many Christ followers have a good understanding of God the Father and of Jesus, God's Son.  But when it comes to God's Holy Spirit, many of us are at a loss and not sure why He's important.  Yet, we discover from the pages of the Bible that while God is Spirit, He is also a person with a mind, will and emotions, who longs to be in relationship with us; a relationship that has the ability to permeate us, to fill us, to change our very lives.

Before Jesus ascended into heaven, He told His disciples that it was better for Him to ascend into heaven so the Holy Spirit would come to us. Why is having the Holy Spirit in our midst so much better than having Jesus walk alongside us?  Who is He?  What does He do?  How do we encounter Him, and what happens when we do?

Join us this October as we come to be surprised by the personality, the purpose, and the power of God’s Spirit.  It’s time to put silly misconceptions and spooky stories aside and to have a real-life encounter with the Holy Spirit.  Let’s experience the Spirit as He truly is, and venture to have our lives filled with Him.
