What We Believe Ministry Programs
Grace Community Church

The vision of Grace Women Ministries is to nurture women in spiritual growth and to encourage friendship and support by providing a variety of opportunities including Bible Studies, social gatherings and challenges for ministry and service.

God does both the making and the saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join Him in the work He does, the good work He has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.
—Ephesians 2:10 MSG

Dynamic, active and growing in Jesus Christ. Whatever stage of life you are in, there is a place for you to belong and grow at Grace through Women Ministries.

Grace Women Ministries hosts a table in the breezeway every Sunday morning. Stop by and meet someone, learn more about what’s happening or make a new friend!

SPIRITUAL LIFE

  • Bible Studies — Both morning and evening groups are available throughout the year, in depth or inquiring—we seek to offer choices to meet a variety of needs.

The next study begins Tuesday, January 13, 7 - 9 pm and Wednesday, September 14, 9:30 - 11:30 am, the Women of Grace will be offering Seeking Him, a bible study by Nancy Leigh DeMoss & Tim Grissom.

This is what Vonette Bright of Campus Crusade for Christ has to say about Seeking Him: The church has a great task before it-to let the world know the true God. Nonbelievers desperately need to see in us the reality of His holiness, grace, and saving power. Seeking Him is an excellent resource to help the church fulfill that calling. This study is revealing and penetrating; it leads believers to identify areas of personal inconsistency in their walk with God, and can't hlep but inspire a desire for greater holiness and commitment to our Savior.

To sign up, please email Tracey DeVoy today! Be sure to include the class you would prefer-Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning - your name, phone number and email and if you require childcare let us know how many children you have and their ages. Thanks!

  • Retreats — Time to get away, experience fun and fellowship and to be enriched by the insights of inspiring speakers. The next retreat is at Alpine Camp and Conference Center, hosted by PSWC Covenant Women Ministry, September 26 - 28, 2008. For more information contact Valerie Yungblut, valerie.yungblut@patni.com.
  • Discipleship Class — Simple, scriptural and personal, these four-week small groups meet intermittently throughout the year under the direction of Lil Reed. They are designed to ground the faith of inquirers, new believers or those who know the Lord and are seeking further growth.

FELLOWSHIP
  • WOW — Women of Wisdom. All single women 50 years young and up are welcomed to a monthly fellowship luncheon. Rides can be arranged, and meals are hosted by a different woman of Grace each month.
  • Showers — It is our practice to welcome into our church family the first baby of the families of our church with a baby shower. We also provide a bridal shower, open to all the women of the church for brides from within our church family. In both these cases, the shower is seen not simply as a wonderful time of fellowship and support, but also as a way of bring a spiritual blessing at each important new stage in life.
  • Special Events — Grace Women have traditionally enjoyed a Christmas Brunch the first Saturday of December as an inspiring way to welcome women of all ages to begin the Christmas season through fellowship, great food, special music and a dynamic message. A Spring Tea is also an intermittent event that brings women of all ages together.

MINISTRY AND SERVICE
  • Quilt Ministry — Producing over 100 beautiful handmade quilts each year, this once-a-month ministry ministers to babies with AIDS and other at risk or traumatized children. Contributions of woven fabrics are welcomed and the quilt ministry is open to all women.
  • Grace Under Cover — Believing that some of life’s greatest joys and lessons can be learned from the pages of a good book, Grace Under Cover seeks to bring women together through the love of reading. This group meets once a month and requires that each book meets with Solzhenitsyn’s Triune Intuition, that the world is created by God as is mankind. All creation including mankind bears the marks of the Fall into sin, and is also capable and worthy of redemption. Reading list is set twice yearly and all members may suggest titles.July 2008 - Dominion by Randy Alcorn; August 2008 - Poetry; September 2008 - The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls; October 2008 - Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett; November 2008 - The Shack by William P Young; December 2008 - Book Exchange
