Children's Ministry is growing at Grace!

We view our children as a precious resource, not only for the contribution they will make tomorrow, but for the vital role they play in the church today!

We are committed to making your child's time with us safe, fun and inspiring. We want kids to enjoy their experience at Grace and to grow in their relationship with Christ. We want them to want to come to church!

Babies and Toddlers are lovingly nurtured in our Nursery. Infants are held and rocked, and a private space is provided for nursing mothers. Toddlers are joyfully cared for with age-appropriate activities including Bible stories, art, imaginative play, and outdoor play.

Children ages 3 through 5th grade begin their worship experience by joining the adults in the "big church." After about 15 minutes, they are invited to participate in child-friendly activities in the Children's Building. The children are divided by age group: Preschool, K-2nd, and 3rd-5th.

Sunday School is offered during the 9:00 am hour. In Sunday School, the children learn a Bible story, and then apply biblical truths through discussion, games, and activities. Children's Worship is offered during the 10:45 am hour. Children's Worship begins with whole-group singing, along with a lesson. Then, the children head to their classes to learn a Bible story and apply biblical truths through discussion, games, and activities.

YouthWAV (Youth With a Vision) is a youth group for 3rd-5th grade students. YouthWAV meets twice a month, from 4-6 pm, at the church. During YouthWAV, students participate in games, a Bible lesson, and discussion. YouthWAV also runs quarterly service projects and special events. During the summer months we meet for 'swim and study' from 4 - 6 pm.

We want to offer kids the chance to know Christ and present ways to build a personal relationship with Him. At Grace every child is welcomed, loved and challenged to grow in Christ.

Vacation Bible School is a fun and exciting one-week program for children, ages "going into Kindergarten" to "going into 6th grade." VBS happens every June and it is an event that we undertake as a church! Everyone gets involved from young teens to senior citizens, bringing about the delightful situation of having as many adults involved in VBS as we have children! Over 100 children attended Power Lab in June 2008, learning about God's Power.

VBS is a special time for children to learn about giving to others as each year a unique challenge is created for the VBS offering. Our 2008 mission challenge was to bring in donations for English Camp on Mt. Lemmon for refugees that live here in Tucson. We raised money as well as brought in games, toys, crayons and carseats for refugee families trying to adapt to life in the United States. We were priveleged to partner with, Cherie Gray at Tucson Refugee Ministry.

Grace Children's Christmas Program
Everyone loves to tell the story of Jesus' birth, and kids at Grace have the opportunity to tell it through song. Rehearsals begin in October for the annual Grace Children’s Christmas Program.

Our children's volunteers are experienced, creative, and caring. All of our children’s volunteers have been screened through application, reference checks, and a background check. Our children's volunteers have also been trained in safety guidelines, and are expected to follow them so that every child is cared for in a safe environment.

At Grace, we offer children opportunities to know Christ personally, to base their identity in Christ, to grow in Christ, and to share Christ with their friends. Each child is welcomed and loved as a unique individual.
